Anybody with an Xbox 360 probably already feels hard done by enough having to pay for the privilege of online gaming. With PlayStation 3 and the Wii both offering their online for free, why give Microsoft more money than you have to?
When it comes to renewal time Xbox charge the following rates
1 year – £39.99
3 months – £12.99
1 month – £4.99
If you go to Play.com you can usually pick up renewals for the following
1 year – £34.99 (includes 1 month free)
3 months – £12.99
Not a big saving but a worthwhile one, especially as this removes another direct debit that may be passing you by unnoticed.
Most companies will just email you the code on the same day of payment so you don’t have to account for delivery times. If you are worried about your subscription expiring before you can do it then just rummage round your game cases and there will be plenty of trials for Xbox live there to tide you over! I have met people that buy a lot of games and run all year on the trials but I couldn’t in good faith recommend that as a money saver!
